ŁANTUTRIFOR #58: Death To Trad Rock Vol. 3

W trzeciej, przedostatniej części cyklu Death To Trad Rock DJ Siehan przedstawia muzykę bardziej oczywistą i konwencjonalną. Będziemy słuchać brytyjskich zespołów z drugiej połowy lat 80-tych, które zostały usunięte w cień takich wielkich i znanych jak Joy Division, Killing Joke, Gang of Four, The Fall, Public Image Ltd., Magazine czy Swell Maps. Dominującym elementem setu będzie charakterystyczna, niemożliwa do pomylenia z niczym dominująca BASÓWA rozprowadzająca utwór w czasie z jazgotliwymi, rozmytymi gitarami w tle. Muzyka ta zdaje się być brytyjskim odpowiednikiem amerykańskiego noise-rocka drugiej połowy lat 80-tych, ale mocno osadzonym w punkowej tradycji. Analogie do muzyki zza oceanu, niekoniecznie wiążące się z "wpływologią" słychać czy to w gitarach ala Sonic Youth w przypadku A.C. Temple, A Witness przypominającym Big Black, Bastard Kestrel antycypującym Jesus Lizard, czy Kilgore Trout poruszającym podobne struny tonacji uczuciowej co Mission of Burma. ŁANTUTRIFOR #56: Death To Trad Rock Vol. 2

Po ubiegłotygodniowym wstępie czas na pierwszą, właściwą część cyklu poświęconego muzyce brytyjskiej przełomu lat 80 i 90-tych. Dziś DJ Siehan prezentuje wykonawców najbardziej spazmatycznych, no-wave'owych i noisowych. Stanie wraz z słuchaczami gdzieś na przecięciu brzmień sprzed 30 lat z trendami, które nierzadko trwają do dziś i czasem aż trudno uwierzyć, że tak głęboko tkwią ich korzenie. Grającym dziś zespołom zdaniem DJ Siehana czasami udawało się wyzwolić z stylistycznego gorsetu typowo post-punkowego grania z wysp, a jednocześnie nie udławić do końca powierzchowną fascynacją tym co robiono za oceanem.

ŁANTUTRIFOR #55: Death To Trad Rock Vol. 1

Dziś w ŁANTUTRIFOR nietypowo gdyż będziemy słuchać wyłącznie muzyki z wysp. DJ Siehan zawsze wyżej stawiał muzykę z USA szerokim łukiem omijając twórczość artystów zakażonych na pokolenia beatlemanią. Ale jeśli chodzi o brytyjski post-punk zawsze najbardziej cenił brytyjskie dokoniania z pierwszej połowy lat 80-tych. Nie miał przy tym przez wiele lat pojęcia ile ciekawych dla niego rzeczy stało się pod koniec tej dekady, którym właśnie poświęcona jest ta audycja zapoczątkowująca czteroczęściowy cykl.
Zaprezentowane utwory zdradzają przede wszystkim inspiracje rodzime, ale usłyszymy również świetne przykłady brzmień w stylu no wave, pierwsze objawy nieczęsto psychodelizującego noise-rocka, jak również dźwięki zimnofalowe i industrializujące. Nie zabraknie inspiracji punk-funkiem, nie tylko w stylu The Pop Group, ale i Minutemen. Duszę DJ Siehana niezwykle ucieszyły wyraźne ślady fascynacji twórczością Captaina Beefhearta. Warto zauważyć, że większość dziś zaprezentowanych nagrań pochodzi z lat 1987-1989. Utwory znacznie starsze czy późniejsze to raczej dzieła outsiderów, protoplastów czy epigonów zjawisk, które DJ Siehan w niniejszym secie próbuje zarysować.
Tytuł cyklu pochodzi od tytułu EP'ki zespołu The Membranes z 1985 roku, której lider John Robb w zeszłym roku pod tym samym tytułem wydał książkę "Death To Trad Rock: The Post-Punk Fanzine Scene 1982-1987" traktującą o interesującym nas tutaj zjawisku.
